Students at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida have organized an adopt-a-street cleaning system where the local residents can get involved in the cleaning and help turn the street - the site of a newly renovated food plaza - into a community development site. Public fruit trees, bulletin boards, and outdoor open eating area allow community stakeholders the opportunity to appreciate and connect with their local environment.
